The Outhouse is a stunning holiday property located on the fringe of The Lake District. Newly built in 2022 and tastefully designed to create calm and indulgent accommodation, The Outhouse is a true haven for those seeking to escape in luxury. Here, you’re well-positioned to explore Kendal and the nearby honeypot towns of Windermere and Ambleside, and The South Lakes in general.
Entering the bright living area, immaculately finished interiors create a warm welcome. A comfortable sofa is positioned around the feature gas fire and wall-mounted SMART TV for those cosy evenings, while the bespoke kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay.
A large master suite makes up the accommodation – perfectly summing up the tranquillity of The Outhouse. Relax in the deep-pocketed king bed, dressed in luxury linens and elegant soft furnishings, before enjoying the indulgence of the walk-in shower room and Bath House hand care products.
Bi-fold doors flow from the bedroom onto the private terrace with comfortable outdoor seating and views over the well-groomed orchard.

THE ACCOMMODATION
- King-size bedroom, with ample storage, wall-mounted SMART TV, well-paired soft furnishings, and direct access to the outdoor terrace.
- En-suite shower room with rainfall shower, basin, WC, wall-mounted towel radiator, and Bath House hand care products.
Need to know
- There is ample parking directly outside the property.
- Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at The Outhouse.
- Tarn & Fell Escapes are pleased to manage this property, and grateful for the assistance from the Property Owners who live in the adjacent house.
- There is underfloor heating throughout and all utilities are included with the accommodation.
- There is a gas fire in the lounge – logs are not required.
- Luxury bed linen and towels are provided for your stay.
- An initial supply of coffee pods is provided for the Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine in the kitchen.
- We do not provide a cot or highchair, but you are welcome to bring your own.
- The Outhouse is a non-smoking property.
- Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 10 am

Easy to find, & both hosts were incredibly helpful & accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

Such a wonderful haven just 20min walk into Kendal. Perfect place for a getaway! Fantastic amenities, clean and in perfect condition! Ross and Stacey were fab and getting in and out was a breeze! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Perefect long weekend
The Outhouse was perfect for a long weekend away. The amenities and decor were to a very high standard and had everything we needed. It was an easy 15-20 minute walk into Kendal and an easy drive to the surrounding towns.

The Outhouse is tastefully built, modern and new. They have everything you will need and all the upmarket utensils and wares. It was homely and cosy. We had a wonderful stay at the Outhouse in Kendal. The house is a very new build and has been finished and decorated to a very high standard. The entire house is spacious with clean lines. There is ample off road parking close to the front door. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is quite large, and the shower had plenty of hot water with excellent pressure and volume. A unique feature was the provision of sensor activated night lights in the bathroom. The Wi-fi was strong and very reliable. There are two smart TVs, a large one in the lounge area and a small one in the bedroom. A very extensive welcome box which included jams, fruit cake, and local treats, as well as bread, butter, and milk in the fridge were provided and were much appreciated. We only met Stacy and Steve once, and they were very pleasant. Most of our dealings were with Ross who manages the property and his communication throughout was excellent. We have no hesitation in recommending the Outhouse.
