Positioned on the fringes of the Lake District National Park boundary, Kendal is often referred to as ‘the gateway to The Lakes’ and well known for the annual Kendal Mountain Film Festival. Its excellent connections to the M6 motorway and West Coast mainline mean Kendal is ideally located for exploring the popular Lakeland towns of Staveley, Ambleside and Windermere, as well as the quaint village of Kirkby Lonsdale in the other direction.
