Guest FAQs: we’ve done our best to answer some of your frequently asked questions, but if there’s anything you need to know – be it about the finer details of a particular property, questions on the area, or if you have any queries with our company policies – please contact our office and we’d be more than happy to help.

All bookings can be placed through our website, through email or via telephone at 01539 898546.

We know all of our properties well and remain on hand to answer any questions you may have about the area or the property itself.

Unless otherwise agreed, all bookings are to be paid in full at least 8 weeks before your holiday start date.

If your booking is made more than 8 weeks from your arrival date, we take a non-refundable deposit of 25% at the time of booking, with the final balance due no later than 8 weeks before your arrival.

We can take interim payments by prior arrangement, and we ask you to contact our office to discuss this.

We kindly refer you to section 14 of our booking terms and conditions. This policy applies to all bookings made through Tarn & Fell Escapes.

If you have booked your stay through a third party, like AirBnB or Booking.com, your booking is bound by the terms advertised on their website(s).

Some of our properties accept dogs and you are more than welcome to bring them along if that’s the case. We ask that pets are not left alone in the accommodation, nor allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms.

If a property does or doesn’t accept pets, this will be made clear in the property information online. If you are unsure if your chosen escape accepts pets, please contact us.

Our properties clearly advertise their maximum occupancy.

Due to insurances, we kindly ask that you do not exceed this occupancy on any occasion, and this includes the use of airbeds etc.

To make your holiday extra special, lots of our guests hire a private chef, book a hot tub or have companies decorate the property for a special occasion.

Please do not make any such arrangements without gaining prior consent from Tarn & Fell Escapes. We will need to obtain the property owner’s permission before you proceed, and we cannot always guarantee that your request will be met.

We also ask that you do not use disposable BBQs, fireworks, lanterns, candles, incense sticks or wildfires when staying with us – this applies to all properties.

All bookings are subject to a 3% booking fee, and this covers some of the many costs associated with processing your booking and its payment. We include this in the total holiday cost, and do not ask you to pay anything supplementary.

All our properties have a different policy in terms of group bookings. We ask that you contact us before booking and we will seek consent from the property owner, though we cannot always guarantee that your request will be met.

All our properties provide bed linens and towels for the maximum number of guests. This includes one bath towel per person, one hand towel per person and one bathmat per bathroom. We ask that you bring your own towels if you plan on open-water swimming or using any of the local day spas.

Please note that we do not provide linen or mattress for cots due to health and safety concerns.

Many of our properties take a security deposit and this will be clearly advertised in the ‘Need to Know’ section of each property.

We do not ask you to make a payment in advance of your holiday, rather you agree to us securely retaining your card details and a payment will be pre-authorised against your credit/debit card for 7 days before and 7 days after your stay.

No monies will be taken unless damage has been caused and we will always contact you in advance of withholding monies.
