Garden Cottage

Garden cottage was newly refurbished in May to a high standard. It was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and a great source of local information. We were provided with the most amazing welcome pack on arrival. The location, accessed via a long single track road, was stunning for a quiet get away. We had an amazing week.
Ross from Tarn and Fell Escapes was fantastic, checking in with us beforehand and providing detailed answers to our questions about places to eat and drink in the local area.Ross is the most helpful agent we have ever encountered.

Garden Cottage is an unbelievably beautiful cottage, situated in a very picturesque, quiet and tranquil place in Burneside. The property is very spacious and is equipped with everything that you need, including a laundry room. Washing tablets are provided too which is helpful. The master bedroom has a lovely big and comfortable bed with luxurious linen. This bedroom also has a great ensuite with a modern and quirky shower. The dining area is superb and the kitchen is modern with excellent appliances including an air fryer which was easy to use. The lounge is bright, warm and inviting and leads up to a second bedroom.

The internet is provided and a handy information
folder put together so diligently by the owners is a ‘must read’ - the area is so vast and so this information is really helpful.

The cottage is tastefully decorated and you really do feel at home here. The location is fabulous and very close to Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere - a few ‘must see’ locations. The property is situated close to all local amenities and the pretty town of Kendal will provide you with a range of shops and supermarkets. The owners of this stunning and breathtaking estate are very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. They provided a really thoughtful welcome pack that included food and drink to get us started for the week. The owners are extremely passionate about the Lake District and are keen for their guests to thoroughly enjoy their visit and get the most out of their stay. They will happily provide you with helpful tips regarding the best places to visit - you need only ask!

Lastly, we booked our stay through a company called Tarn and Fell Escapes and Ross (the Company Director) was absolutely amazing. He was so helpful and very quick and efficient to respond to any query that we had. Ross kindly went out of his way to provide us with excellent recommendations of some of the best pubs, cafes, restaurants and places to visit in the local area. We cannot recommend this company enough and we feel so lucky and privileged to have come across Tarn and Fell Escapes. There is absolutely no question that as and when we return to the Lake District, Tarn and Fell Escapes will be the only company we will book with. If you have come across this beautiful hidden gem, do
not hesitate to book it! We promise that you will not be disappointed.

First time in the Lake District with friends & this place was absolutely amazing, from welcoming hosts Jill & Chris to the privacy afforded to us whilst we were there. Ross was also very understanding & quick to respond whenever we contacted him. Will definitely look to go back the next time I visit the Lake District.

Garden Cottage, near Staveley is a stunning property, with breathtaking views, within a beautiful area. Jill & Chris felt like family as they were incredibly welcoming and generous with their time and helpful knowledge of the area. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, even down to spare bin liners and plenty of loo roll. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Garden Cottage is beautifully presented in an elevated position. Chris and Jill are lovely hosts and provided a range of welcome provisions for our arrival and offered helpful guidance on nearby walks and beauty spots. The kitchen was very well equipped with unexpected additions including a coffee maker and air fryer. The bedrooms were bright and airy with comfortable beds assuring a restful sleep. The double aspect lounge allowed opportunity for relaxation in the evenings after days of touring and sightseeing.



Visitors with mobility issues are made aware of the external stairs leading from the car park to the cottage.

Had a lovely 4 night stay in Garden Cottage. What a warm, friendly welcome from Jill, Chris and Bertie. Thoroughly appreciated the exceptional welcome provisions and the fresh flower arrangements throughout. Had great sleeps in the comfortable beds. It's a beautiful spot. The cottage bears signs of attention to detail, we loved it!

Your home is absolutely beautiful and you have made us feel very welcome. We couldn't have wished for anything more.
