The living area flows into a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need for easy self-catering. Just off the lounge, the practical utility and boot room is perfect for wiping muddy paws, drying coats and boots, or cleaning up after a walk – an especially handy feature for guests with dogs and those here to explore.

Upstairs, the light-filled king-size bedroom overlooks Hawkshead’s rooftops, while the generous bathroom is a standout feature. Designed with relaxation in mind, it offers a freestanding bath and a large walk-in rainfall shower – ideal for soaking tired legs after a day exploring nearby Grizedale Forest or Esthwaite Water.

Corner House was in a fantastic location. Easy to find, great pubs in the local area. Perfect weekend getaway for a couple including dogs! Top notch service from Ross, we will definitely be back. Thanks so much!

We had a great stay at Corner House. It had everything we needed for a weekend in the Lakes and we would happily have stayed for longer. We didn’t know Hawkshead but it’s a great village to stay in with a great selection shops, cafes and pubs to visit.
Perfect cottage to explore The Lakes
Letitia | August 2025
A home from home, this perfect cottage has everything you need; close to the Co-Op, local pubs and shops, just 10 minutes from Ambleside and all the comforts you have in your own home. Lovely woodburner, use of washing machine and dishwasher, roll top bath and utility room for your dog and dirty shoes/clothes!
Loved it and will hopefully return
Angela | August 2025
This was a lovely comfortable cottage for two people. There was an area for wet gear although we were fortunate with the weather, the bed was very comfortable and although no outside space for our dogs just around the corner was a very quiet country lane to walk them in a morning, it was so peaceful, and just around the...
Cottage was perfect
Corinne | July 2026
We had a lovely week in Hawkshead, a great village to stay with walks on your doorstep and plenty of places to eat and drink within 5 minutes walk of your front door. Cottage was clean and perfect for us with extra muddy boot area for dog. Everything we needed was provided. Would stay again.
Fabulous accommodation
Frances | June 2026
Had a lovely 5 night stay for our honeymoon. The accommodation was fabulous! Really clean, great amenities and thankfully very cool in the middle of a heatwave! The bathroom was great and kitchen had everything we needed. Parking was really easy in the local car park, and nearby for a short time to unpack the car. Lots of lovely pubs...
Great spot
Lauren | June 2026
A great spot for myself and dog for a quick weekend getaway. The mud room was fantastic for the pup. Bathroom was really large and relaxing. I will note that aside from hand wash, no other toiletries provided (this may have been listed and I just missed it!!). Not a big deal as co-op very nearby but figured worth noting....
Cosy cottage
Roger | June 2026
Very cosy well equipped cottage in a great central position in the village but very quiet. Ideal for exploring surrounding country side. Lots of walks from the cottage without needing to use the car. Amazing bathroom and very comfortable bed!

Corner House lived up to our expectations. Cosy cottage, small but great for us 2 and a small dog. Everything we needed and a very comfy bed. Some water damage in bathroom but we loved the rainwater shower! Great position in the middle of Hawkshead. No need to drive out as plenty of walks nearby, but we enjoyed exploring. Beautiful...
