High Tarn Green has been carefully designed to offer comfortable accommodation in a peaceful corner of The Lake District, all while being practical for those who are less able or use a wheelchair. The property is all on the ground floor, with considered adaptions throughout including widened doors, wet floor shower rooms and grab rails.

The living space compromises a neat and newly fitted kitchen with all the expected appliances for making the most of self-catering. A large sitting room has comfortable seating by way of a 2-seater sofa and two armchairs with matching footstools. The SMART TV, record player and abundance of books and games mean High Tarn Green is perfect for those who are looking to enjoy some R&R and make the most of everything that this home away from home has to offer. A well-sized dining table adds a dimension of ‘open plan living’ to this Lake District holiday cottage.

The accommodation at High Tarn Green is made up of one double and one twin bedroom, both tastefully dressed in soft furnishings and offering generous free space with en-suite wet floor shower rooms for added privacy – conveniently heated with underfloor heating, shower, basin and WC. The bathrooms are equipped with grab rails for those who require them; a shower seat and wheelchair can be made available on request.

Outside, there is a courtyard style patio which is ideal for alfresco dining in the evening sun.

  • Large sitting room with cushioned seating, wood burning stove, SMART TV, record player and an abundance of books and games. A large dining table shares the living space.
  • Spacious double bedroom leads off the lounge with en-suite wet floor shower room: underfloor heating with basin, shower and WC. Grab rails, shower seat and wheelchair are in place for those who may require them.
  • An equally spacious twin bedroom leads off the kitchen, with en-suite facilities matching those above. This bedroom also has a SMART TV.
  • Neat courtyard garden with outdoor dining set and parasol.

Need to know

  • Off-road parking for 2 vehicles is available free of charge, with space for additional cars on request.
  • This property has been adapted to suit guests who are less able, and those who use wheelchairs. All doorways have been widened and the house is all on one level. The wet floor shower rooms have grab rails in place and a shower chair and shower-friendly wheelchair can be provided.
  • Unfortunately, this property does not accept pets.
  • There is underfloor heating throughout, including in the bathrooms.
  • An initial supply of logs and kindling will be provided. Further supplies can be purchased locally.
  • Bed linen and towels are included with the rent.
  • An iron, ironing board and hairdryer are offered to bring an element of convenience to your self-catered stay.
  • Guests have access to a washing machine; there are clothes airers in the property.
  • There is suitable storage for up to 4 bicycles on request.
