Just two miles from the popular town of Windermere, and only a ‘stagger’ from the award-winning Watermill Inn & Brewing Co, you couldn’t be in a better location!
Once inside this typical Lakeland cottage, you’ll find both charm and character in the exposed wooden beams and stone flagged floors, while the comfortable and contemporary lounge is the perfect place to nestle down after a day on the fells. A well designed kitchen is enclosed – though not separate to the lounge and dining area – and provides many modern day amenities to make your self-catered stay an easy one. From the rear door, you have access to a raised terrace that enjoys an outdoor dining set and countryside views – perfect for your morning coffee or an evening tipple.
Upstairs, you’ll find the master bedroom with king-sized bed, a separate dressing room and the spacious house bathroom. Subtle hues, high-quality linens and tasteful accessories create a romantic atmosphere and make this accommodation the perfect destination for your Lake District escape.

- Raised terrace with outdoor furniture (note, though the terrace itself is private, the neighbouring cottage has access to their own terrace at the same height).
First Floor
- King-sized bedroom with TV and views towards the Lakeland fells.
- Dressing room with day bed (note, linen is not provided for this room).
- House bathroom featuring a large bath with shower over, basin and WC.
Need to know
- 1 private parking space is allocated to Mill Cottage.
- 1 well behaved dog is welcome.
- There is oil central heating throughout.
- The kitchen has an induction hob – anyone with a pacemaker is advised to take caution and seek professional medical advice.
- This cottage has a £100 security deposit – seek further details in the booking terms and conditions.
- Mill Cottage sits at the entrance of the immaculately kept Ings Mill Park – a quiet 'owner-only' holiday park of luxury static caravans.

Bed was very comfortable, if i could suggest perhaps a couple of firmer pillows alongside softer ones you currently have. Mirror in bedroom is quite high when you sit on seat you cant see in...

Bed was very comfortable, if i could suggest perhaps a couple of firmer pillows alongside softer ones you currently have.
Mirror in bedroom is quite high when you sit on seat you cant see in it, if it could be lowered slightly.
Toilet cistern constantly dripped which was loud
at night so had to make sure bathroom door was closed. Toilet flush button only one bit works.
Kitchen does have wide variety off stuff everything you need but a small air fryer might be an advantage.
With being dog friendly perhaps dog water bowls. Plus a small bin in back yard for poo bags that could be emptied at end off week .
But on the whole great litte cottage, near to windemere, Ambleside, bowness on windamere, kendal. Will definately be back. Ross great with communication and replying to messages.

Excellent Cottage
We stayed here for Four nights over the Christmas period. The cottage was in an excellent location, so peaceful and quiet. It had a well equipped kitchen to enable us to make a full Christmas dinner. Ings
The cottage was immaculate home from home. Could not fault it. Ings central to all main tourist attractions also lovely walks. If I had one negative it would be that it was supposed to be dog friendly. The garden shared and not totally secure. Also you have steps up to patio and little grassed area with at least a 7ft...

We had to be with our dog on a lead as he thought it would be good to try and jump off the wall and also get into the field with the sheep. Would we go again yes, but not with the dog. The location was ideal We parked our car and used the buses which was a good service Also we could start our walks from the cottage. We would definitely stay again .

Lovely cottage, spotless everything you could need, close to buses and local pub, although up a bit of a hill back up. The only thing that could be changed would be a little fence at back between the two cottages as although this is a dog friendly cottage, we let our little dog out in the back for 5 minutes,...

The only thing that could be changed would be a little fence at back between the two cottages as although this is a dog friendly cottage, we let our little dog out in the back for 5 minutes, we were supervising him but he lady knocked from the office at the end of the two cottages and asked us to get him in as she had a Labrador,she was pleasant and polite about it, but it made me uneasy to let our dog out again

We had a fabulous weeks stay in Mill Cottage, based in Ings. We had never stayed here before, but we will definitely return. It is placed in a friendly village, next to a peaceful private caravan site. The lambs and sheep make more noise than the park, so it’s not a problem, and being able to have nature on our doorstep was a bonus.
We were able to relax and enjoy the area and we found Ings to be perfectly situated to explore the whole area.
Information and communication from Tarn and Fell escapes was excellent, they even called the week before, to ensure we had a smooth check in, which was easy.
The cottage was beautifully clean and well cared for, and had everything we needed for a great weeks stay. We will definitely return.
We were able to relax and enjoy the area and we found Ings to be perfectly situated to explore the whole area.

Another great week at Mill Cottage. Can't fault it. Ross is a really helpful host who ensures that everything is ready for you on arrival. The cottage is warm and cosy and has everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The weather wasn't kind to us but it didn't stop us getting out and about on the very efficient bus service. The Watermill pub was as good as usual - would recommend the pub quiz on Wednesday night. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely week at Mill Cottage. Everything was clean and we had all the home comforts required. The weather was kind and there's lots of places within driving distance to visit with lots of good hiking. The local pub was cosy and inviting. Overall I'd recommend a stay here.
