This bolthole is the ideal place to rest and relax after a day exploring the many local fells or nearby tourist attractions that Bowness has to offer. With comfortable leather sofas, a roaring open fire, and a degree of charm about it, Peg’s Place could be described as a real home from home.
The open plan and newly fitted dining-kitchen provides everything you might need for self-catering in The Lake District, with the accommodation (accessed via a narrow, spiral, open-treaded staircase) on the first floor offering a calm atmosphere by way of its muted soft furnishings and comfortable double bed. The en-suite is located just off the master bedroom with a deep bath and recently installed power shower to add further comfort to your stay at Peg’s Place.

- Small porch with storage for outdoor shoes.
- Tarmac driveway with a small courtyard table and two chairs.
FIRST FLOOR
- Recently refurbished double (4ft 6in) bedroom with a spacious built-in wardrobe, bedside storage units, Freeview TV, and calming soft furnishings.
- En-suite bathroom featuring bath with power shower over, basin, WC, and wall-mounted towel radiator.
Need to know
- Guests must note that the spiral staircase is narrow and has open treads. The width of the staircase measures 48cm.
- Parking at Peg’s Place is for 1 medium-sized vehicle, on the tarmac in front of the cottage.
- Guests are advised that the road to the cottage and the parking area is narrow. Instructions for how best to navigate this will be provided in the arrival information, or available sooner by request. Kindly note the length of a vehicle should not exceed 5m.
- 1 well-behaved dog is welcome at no extra cost.
- There is gas central heating throughout and all utilities are included with the accommodation.
- An initial supply of logs is provided for the open fire – additional supplies can be purchased locally.
- Bed linen and towels are provided.
- We do not provide a cot or highchair, but you are welcome to bring your own.
- This cottage has a £100 security deposit – seek further details in the booking terms and conditions.
- Peg’s Place is a non-smoking property.

Hidden gem
Ideally placed in virtually the center of Bowness. The place seems recently renovated and has everything you need for a short self catering break. Private parking was fine, no problem getting my VW Touran in the parking space. Easy walking access to all the shops, restaurants and pubs. We would stay here again if visiting the Lakes

Stay in the Lakes,
Fantastic little cottage, Everything you need is supplied, spotlessly clean had a fantastic stay. The staircase may be challenging for elderly guests but we managed fine.

We would highly recommend Pegs place, it was immaculate with a well equipped kitchen with everything you needed . A lovely surprise, chocs ,mince pies & prossecco, which were delicious. A super comfy Bed , plenty of storage in wardrobe. A good bathroom with bath & shower.
Pegs place is situated 10 mins walk to centre of Bowness with lots of pubs , restaraunts , cafes & shops All in all a great place to stay.

Very good stay
Lovely small cottage in great location. Immaculately clean and well equipped kitchen. Tight driveway / down a narrow back road but this was communicated by the host in advance. Only negative was that we found the mattress uncomfortable.

After some time looking at overpriced cottages around the lakes that were a reasonable distance away from the town I came across this place. Pegs cottage was great value for money and meant we were able to stay a few extra nights than we had planned. Immediately after booking we received a call from a helpful person who offered any support we needed and followed up by helpful emails. When we arrived we were given a bottle of fizz which was a lovely touch and the place was lovely and clean and cosy. The location was also great with a very short walk into town.
Couldn’t recommend this place enough, we will definitely be returning. Absolutely perfect for a couple with a dog!

Welcoming and cosy
Great small cottage for a getaway in the Lake District. Communication with the hosts before we arrived was fantastic, and could check in early. The cottage was super clean and cosy. Easily walkable into Bowness with connections to walks and restaurants.

We had a really lovely time at Peg’s Place, everything had been considered by the hosts to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The location was brilliant as it was lovely and quiet but you were only a short walk from Bowness where there are so many lovely spots to visit. A really cosy place and we’d definitely stay...

Great location
Ross was so helpful and easily contactable throughout our time there. The cottage is in a great location close to the pier and loads of shops and restaurants which were all super dog friendly. We had a lovely stay!

We had a great stay at Peg’s Place! Very short walk into central Bowness and a perfect spot to drive to other locations. Really comfortable space, spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything that we needed. We have a large car and expected parking would be a tad tight, however it was fine to park on the driveway space and carefully...
